32-365 A tubber

Yes folks, I am a tubber. I admit it. Proudly. Luxuriating in a deep, hot bathtub with a glass of wine, a good book, and a little music is the perfect way to end the day. (Add a little extra curricular afterwords, and it just don't get any better!)

I probably should have saved this shot for HNT but I decided to go with it since I didn't want to run around trying to come up with something else. That would've been too much aggravation as I was basking in my post-tub afterglow.

The book I'm reading is also pretty cool -- "American Rose: A Nation Laid Bare, the life and times of Gypsy Rose Lee." I was driving home the other day from a meeting and Vince called to tell me he'd just heard about it on NPR and thought I'd like it so I drove straight to Border's to pick up a copy. It's pretty darn cool, not just because of the subject but also because it is such a cool depiction of the times -- the 1920s - 1940s.

My birthday present last month was "Sarah: the life of Sarah Bernhardt." Another awesome peek not only into a life but into a time and place -- Paris, 1840s through early 1920s. What an amazing woman and and even more amazing life.

Of the two women, I think I would have liked Sarah but not Gypsy (Louise, by the way.) They both did incredible things and overcame some serious obstacles, but Sarah lived her life fully and on her own terms, while Gypsy was an incredibly damaged product of a monstrous childhood.

Fascinating.

  2. You're supposed to fuck BEFORE you clean up silly.

Though bathrobes do have a certain allure...

  3. I heard the NPR story and am fascinated by Gypsy and her smart approach to "branding" herself before that was what people did. Enjoy every relaxing moment. Your photo is both beautiful and calming.

  4. When I grew up our house had an old claw foot tub. I miss that.
